The Stability Observatory is where we argue with your crash feed in public.

Not a monitoring product. A facilitated critique: you bring anonymised groups, we press on whether they are one failure or five, and we leave with a hold/ship line you can defend in launch review.

Hour 0

You send a redacted export and a release calendar. We refuse personally identifiable payloads. If the dump is mostly backend 500s, we will say the Observatory is the wrong room and point you elsewhere.

Hour 1–2

Faculty read silently. We mark clusters that look merged by vendor heuristics, stacks waiting on symbolication, and session-rate swings that track traffic mix rather than code.

Hour 3

Live critique with engineering and one product voice in the room. The rule is that every “we should page” claim must name the user journey and the reopen condition.

After

A two-page observatory note: keep, split, or drop each major group; a suggested gate for the next staged rollout; and one limitation we noticed in your telemetry coverage.

Who this is for

Teams who already completed a public programme, or who have a staff engineer fluent in crash tooling and still cannot agree with product on what “bad” means. Org Watch retainers include four Observatory days a year.

Who should skip it

Teams with no crash SDK, or who want us to implement logging. That is engineering services; we do not sell it. Start with a programme if the vocabulary is new.

Bring one ugly cluster.

If you cannot name it in a sentence, that is enough reason to book a desk.
